I had a few websites that just never got off the ground.  I could never rank up which the big boys in the niche and I let them expire. I had moved some of the content to InfoBarrel to try to monetize it.   I actually got a little more traffic than I did on my own site but can't say that I was really monetizing it.

Then I tried another experiment.  I removed the content from InfoBarrel and turn it into short ebooks to put on  Amazon's KDP program. 

I had to make a book cover, format the text, add a little extra content and clean it up a little. 

Here is the cool part, I have been selling copies! 

One piece of content I really wanted to have people see (even if I never made a dime off of it) and now they are.

The best part is now I never have to touch it again.  It has become an "asset" and I don't have to build links for it, worry about Google changing the game or pay for hosting the content.

You can create products with your content and not even have a website. 

I will be creating a lot more of these ebooks.
